Sabine County (Sabine County)
Sabine County is a county located on the central eastern border of the U.S. state of Texas. As of the 2020 census, its population was 9,894. The county was organized on December 14, 1837, and named for the Sabine River, which forms its eastern border.
According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the county has a total area of 577 sqmi, of which 491 sqmi is land and 85 sqmi (15%) is water.

Indigenous peoples have inhabited the Americas for thousands of years. Beginning in 1607, British colonization led to the establishment of the Thirteen Colonies in what is now the Eastern United States. With the Union's victory and preservation, slavery was abolished nationally by the Thirteenth Amendment.
